Obituary for Beverly Elaine Camp (Bridges)

Blacksburg -- Beverly Elaine Bridges Camp, 78, of 235 North Cherokee Ford Road, passed away Monday, September 4th, 2017, at her residence.

Born in Greenville, she was the widow of Norris Camp, the daughter of the late Maurice and Atha Long Bridges, and the step-daughter of Noreen Martin Bridges. Mrs. Camp loved working with people. She was the former owner of Seven Acres Florist in Blacksburg, she served on the Blacksburg Beautification Committee, and she was very active politically in the Republican Party. Mrs. Camp was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a former Worthy Matron. In addition to these things, Beverly loved serving in her church. She served on various committees and was formerly a Sunday School teacher, but she also loved going to visit shut-ins and the local nursing homes.

Surviving Mrs. Camp are one son, Todd Eugene Camp and wife, Kathy, of Wadesville, Indiana; two daughters, Michealle Carter of Blacksburg and Michelle DuBose of Kernerville, NC; seven grandchildren, Hunter and Maggie Camp, Justin and Jeremy Leskanic, and Ben and Mason DuBose, and Brittany Dover; four great-grandchildren, Ally, Gavin, Garrett, and Emma; two brothers, Mason Collins and wife, Elaine, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and David Bridges of Columbia, SC; a "special daughter," Wanda Ford; and a life-long friend, Janice Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at noon with Rev. Terry Duvall officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, 212 E. Floyd Baker Blvd, Gaffney, SC 29340 or First Baptist Church, 103 S. Rutherford St, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at their respective homes.
