Scott is the owner of Gordon Mortuary, and is the second generation of Gordons to work at the mortuary. He has been in the funeral business for over forty years, since age 17, when he went to work with his Uncle, Bill Gordon, the founder of Gordon Mortuary. He and his wife, Linda Hampton Gordon, live in Blacksburg. They have 3 children: Matt Gordon (Katie), Amanda Gordon Gilfillan (Jason) and Adam Gordon (Michelle); and 4 grandchildren: Anna, Ryan and Jacob Gilfillan and Aedan Gordon.

Adam became a National Board certified funeral director and embalmer in August of 2006, and became manager of Gordon Mortuary in October of 2007.  He is a third generation Gordon to become a funeral director/embalmer.  Adam graduated from Blacksburg High School in 2000, Francis Marion University in 2004 with a B.S. in Mathematics, and Piedmont Technical College in 2006 with an Associates degree in Business and Funeral Services.  He has one child, Joshua Aedan Gordon, who was born on September 30, 2009.
