Our Staff

We understand how difficult it is to lose a loved one. Our compassionate and caring team work hard each and every day to make sure that the members of our community and beyond are taken care of during such a difficult time. For advice on what to do when a loved one is dying, making funeral arrangements, pre-arranging your own funeral, or anything else, please feel free to contact us, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Scott Gordon

Scott was a second generation owner of Gordon Mortuary. He had been in the funeral business for over forty years, since age 17, when he went to work with his Uncle, Bill Gordon, the founder of Gordon Mortuary. He lived with his wife, Linda Hampton Gordon, in Blacksburg. They had 3 children:
Matt Gordon (Katie), Amanda Gordon Gilfillan (Jason) and Adam Gordon (Ashley); and ten grandchildren: Anna, Ryan, and Jacob Gilfillan, Aedan Gordon, Elijah Owen, Reagan Gordon, and Paisleigh, Ava Grace, Kaileb Gordon, and Zayden Gordon.
Scott, referred to as "Pop," passed away on May 24th, 2023. His impact on the funeral home, his family, friends, and community was so apparent. His son, Adam continues his legacy as the 3rd generation funeral home owner.

Adam Gordon

SC Funeral Director / Embalmer License #3282
Adam is a National Board Certified Funeral Director/Embalmer and a third generation owner of Gordon Mortuary. He and his wife, Ashley Blythe Gordon, were married in 2013. They currently have five children: Caroline, Aedan, Elijah, Reagan, and Zayden. 

He graduated from Blacksburg High School in 2000, Francis Marion University in 2004 with a B.S. in Mathematics, and Piedmont Technical College in 2006 with an Associates degree in Business and Funeral Services.  

Adam is the current President of The Blacksburg Business Association,  a past Chairman for the Piedmont Group of the South Carolina Funeral Directors Association, and current Treasurer for the Cherokee County Foster Parent Association.

Adam's hobbies include golf, Legos, and coin collecting. He has also recently tried his hand at gardening.

Kendall Kirby

SC Funeral Director License #4188
Kendall J. Kirby is a Licensed Funeral Director, working on obtaining his embalming license at Piedmont Techn ical College, in the Funeral Service Program. Kendall graduated from Gaffney High School in 2009. He has worked full-time at Gordon Mortuary for over 5 years. 

Son of George and Natarsha Kirby, Kendall has three children: Kadence, Karter, and Kensley. He enjoys worshipping his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, spending time with family, and playing guitar. He is a member of Mt. View Masonic Lodge 301 in Blacksburg SC, Blacksburg Rotary Club, Downtown Gaffney Advisory Board, Radio Personality, and a Notary Public.
